Great how-to, Jane. So. Many. Possibilities!
Light Brights. AR and I did P.S.1 this past weekend, and I was completely inspired by this wood and (apparently?) Christmas light piece. I regret now that I forgot to jot down the piece’s name or the artist (was from the Between Spaces exhibition.)
Anyway, I spent some time studying and think it would be great fodder for a DIY project:
1. Drill evenly spaced holes in the wood
2. Arrange boards as desired; attach with screws
3. Stain art form a milky white
4. Unscrew (round, medium-sized) Christmas lights from their sockets, then reattach, pushing the sockets through the holes in the wood so the cord runs along the back side of the wood and the lights “float” on the front
5. Staple the cord down along the backside so it is hidden
6. Hang
(P.S. Sorry for the blurry cellphone pic!)
